Straight out of the box it will not work with your Macbook Pro however if you reformat the HDD it will. Just google how to do this, it is very simple!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it's initially formatted for PC but just follow the instructions on the screen when you hook it up. I use it for both a MacBook and a Mac Mini.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using an older (2 years old) model on my MacBook and it works well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As others have said, yes if reformatted. It would be easier to just buy the Mac version of the HDD. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-my-passport-for-mac-1tb-external-usb-3-0-portable-hard-drive-black/5605513.p?skuId=5605513
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This should work just fine, as long as you have a Macbook Pro with a user-replaceable hard drive. You will need to reformat the drive for Mac and install the operating system. I like to get a drive with 7200rpm spindle speed (instead of 5400) when possible. If you're going to the trouble of replacing a hard drive, might as well make it a good one.
