Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this same question before buying and bought the device based on others answer of yes. Although the device will work with compatible/individual files, it will not work as a place to use your Mac Photos Library or to play your iTunes purchases from. After searching the web, including the manufactures website for answers, i finally called. They confirmed that in order to use my various Mac Photo Libraries and iTunes purchases that I would have to format the drive for Mac. In doing so you loose all wireless functionality. The same goes if you want to use it as a Time Machine for your mac. I did see mention of having to format for Time Machine online but not regarding the use that I described above. Please be advised that for the few images I exported out of the Photos App on my mac and copied to the drive it worked as described. I was even able to see the image using the WD cloud app on my iPhone and iPad. That being the case, it is not the way in which I want to use my photos as I have thousands.
