Just spoke with WD technical support 2-1-22 and they said the Western Digital "My Passport" 10, 8.1 is compatible with windows 11.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is dependent on the production year of the model you get. So, it may come down to a crap shot... The newer ones will use newer drivers that ARE compatible with Windows 11 Core Isolation Memory Integrity while the older production models are not and will cause it to fail. This information I received from a level 2 tech over the phone while trying to deal with this issue. You can run without the drivers on the straight Microsoft drivers not allowing the WD ones to install, though the drive will run slower and won't have access to the WD Bacup Features. It simply works as an external HD at that point. Built in Backup software or 3rd party software would be needed. Acronis software supplied will not work without the WD drivers. Sorry for making this a 'complex' answer... however, it isn't a straight yes it is or no it isn't. The only solution is for WD to update their drivers to correct for this which from the looks of things they are not going to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My Passport 1TB drivers conflict with Win 11 memory security. WD Backup (software) is no longer supported by WD. They give a 5 year license to use Acronis. Acronis will work with Win-11, but you must keep Win-11 memory security (core isolation) turned off. problem is again due to driver conflict with Win-11. If you want to run windows-11 it is probably best to stay away from Western Digital back up drives with or without Acronis. Unless WD/Acronis can update their drivers to Win-11.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works on both Windows and Macs. If it works on Windows 11, it remains to be seen if anything will work on Windows 11, or if Windows 11 even works.
