iT WILL WIPE IT.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Scott. You can reformat for Mac only. I believe it comes formatted for Mac and PC (exfat). If you have data saved on the drive now and you reformat, you will loose the data as the Mac drive utility will erase the data then reformat the drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you format it for a Mac you will destroy any data that you have on it. Copy the data off it before you format it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no problem reformatting it for MAC. That is what I always do. However, reformatting will always erase all information stored on the drive. Be sure to copy off anything that you want to save before reformatting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. formatting it for a Mac will destroy any Windows data on the drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think this must be a "haha"... but if not, formatting by definition erases all data on the disk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Reformatting a drive ALWAYS overwrites saved information... meaning it will be gone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hard drive can’t be formatted for any platform, if you format it as fat and then put it into the system that you wish to operate from you should be able to format it just fine. On the Mac, if you have even a trial version of paragon anti FS you can read your information on the hard drive copy it off and then format it. To answer your last question if you format any hard drive you will lose the information on the hard drive and you were either have to go through extensive work to get it back or pay and absorbent amount for someone else to get it back for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When you reformat it for Mac, you will lose everything on it. It will wipe it clean so be sure to copy everything form the drive to your computer, reformat it and then copy everything back. If both your PC and Mac are recent computers, I would suggest you use the ExFAT format that can be read on both computers and has no file size limit like Fat32 does.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm pretty sure you will lose everything on it even if you have it partitioned.
