It will work perfectly fine, you don't need a NAS hard drive and can save money with a standard 8TB hard drive. The NAS hard drive is the same but designed to run 24x7 with alot of activity happening with it. Definitely more durable than a standard drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Should work ok, as this is a 3.5” drive, but for the price, it’s probably better to go with a cheaper model as these are a bit more due to being made for NAS devices and being used constantly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Work? Probably, but not recommended. For desktop Western Digitals modes are color coded and should use either "Green" (slower, energy conserving), "Blue" (mainstream), or "Black" (performance/gaming). The other two colors are designed for 24 hour operation and specific uses. "Purple" is for recording security camera systems, and "Red" for NAS (Network Attached Storage). Should note that it is Red Plus or higher that should be used in a NAS. The original "Red" was designed with shortcuts using access technology similar to Green/Blue which is less expensive not not compatible with NAS requirements.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is. Standard 3.5" sata drive. So yes, as long as your dell is less then 10-12 years old (And takes sata vs the old ide standard) then it'd work.
