No, i don't think it will speed things up. Although when I had another virus protection (I think it was avg) that took up a lot of space and really slowed my computer, and switching to webroot did seem to help with the speed.

I would advise that you uninstall your current antivirus, install Webroot, and try it out for a week. If things are not going well and performance is lagging, then take it to a professional. Consider ridding your cpu of its temp files using the conventional method in the control panel and by the run command using %temp% and deleting unnecessary files. If you are not comfortable or familiar with this operation then have someone do it for you
