Hi, Biker712. If you plan to use the Wemo WiFi Smart Plug with a lamp, then any bulb will do. But, if you mean to control the main light of the basement, you might want to check our Wemo light switch instead, as it’s specifically designed for light bulbs: https://bit.ly/3qFw93t
