• Yes you can download apps using the Roku installed operating system. We do not recommend changing the stand from what is provided with the TV.

• App loading is easy. Have already downloaded many. As to a pedestal - not sure. It probably depends upon the type of pedestal you have. (I use the supplied legs and found them easy to install plus their footprint is pretty small.)

• I pedestal stand will not work on it, unless the top is a couple of inches wider than the width of the TV. It is a lightweight TV!
