• Yes.....Mrs. Linda it can be hooked up to cable without a converter box, in my opinion get the box so you can get the full enjoyment of the T.V........HDMI CORD FROM T.V. TO BOX......CRYSTAL CLEAR !!!

• Yes, cable can be hooked up directly to the TV without the converter box. It will not receive programming beyond basic cable however.
