• yes, the default screen is ROKU, but you can change it in settings to power up to whatever HDMI port you want to come on first.

• I am sure if you connect your set top box and set the channel to the correct channel it will. I have not used it with direct TV so I am not sure if when turned on it will go right on to Direct TV. I think you will have to select the that input. They do have an hdmi (eARC) which may automatically detect when your Direct TV set top box is turned on. Hope this helps.

• A quick net check shows Direct TV box may be problematic. The Westinghouse has four HDMI and two USB 2 inputs. The Direct TV box should have HDMI and USB outputs.
