Will the pole mount fit the back of a 58 inch vizio? null

The mount can be adjusted to fit a wide variety of television mounts. If your television is within the suggested size for this TV stand, and it has standard attachments in the back, you should have no problem.

The upper part of the two piece pole mount tilts forward. Poor design.

All the TV needs is to have a standard VESA wall mount configuration on the back. My tv is 200mm x 300mm. But other compatible VESA standards are 200 x 200, 400 x 400 and 600 x 400 depending on the screen size of your TV. As long as you can find screws of the right depth to fit into the VESA mounts on your TV, then the monitor bracket included with this stand will fit onto the TV and then you can mount the TV to the mounting frame on the stand.
