The stand comes from the factory with the side "legs", three frames (with glass shelves) and back "spine". (square tube) The spine can be shortened by removing the section that rises above the top shelf. The platform kit includes a flat panel TV wall-mounting bracket, as well as the brackets to mount the TV to the portion of the "spine" that is above the top shelf. The TV can also be placed on the top shelf of the stand. The glass will support 65-pounds. Hence the name 3-in-1 stand.
