Please try again later.the instructions call for lateral screws from metal bracket into the wood end pieces; for that you would best use the drill to guide screw and minimize any chance of splitting the wood; I elected not to put the screws in because the metal bracket is bolted together and is more than sufficient to keep the ends upright;
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I used a screwdriver. None of the screws are long enough to need it. As with all knockdown furniture, a screw gun with out a very light clutch setting can very easily risk over driving the screws and stripping out the holes.
