Does this unit plug in to a regular 120 outlet? null

Hello Josh! Yes, this uses a 120 Volt outlet. Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.

120V 20 amp circuit (outlet is wired to a dedicated 20 amp breaker in the panel). Changing out a 15A outlet itself to handle a 20amp plug IS NOT what should be done.
