Hello Cindy, yes this model is a microwave hood combination.

Yes it is a combination fan microwave. The exhaust can be vented to the kitchen or an exterior vent. The exterior vent option can be routed either thru the top or the back of the microwave.

Mine has a built-in fan that does not need outside ventilation. My contractor said there is a filter inside that needs to be changed or replaced eventually.
