• there is a vent underneath you can use it to vent outside or inside its not on the top of the microwave.....

• There is an exhaust on the bottom of the microwave. Mine is hooked up to my old vent that goes outside,so when I turn on the micro fan, the air gets sucked in by the micro and goes out thru the vent. So when I am cooking on the stove I have my micro fan on, so it can lift the steam/smoke out thru the exhaust. Nice feature. Has three selections Hope this helps
