You can use the rectangular rack that is provided. The circular one will provide a more even heat to whatever you are cooking with convention heat. Pizza for example should be done on the circular rack. The heating element is in the left side of the microwave and not on the bottom like a conventional oven. This is why the circular rack is advised.
