Hi sheabird, on this Whirlpool - 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave, the settings for the vent fan can be changed. They can be changed using the settings for High (“SPd2”), low (“SPd1”) and off. However, the Vent fan comes on automatically as cooling fan during any cook function. Thank you for your question!
