I have a whirlpool ice maker 15" in counter. When the water try fills, it overflows a lot of water and drains where the melted ice would go. It there a reason it overflows. It uses a lot of water. Model # WUI75X15HZ00 null

That is normal, but there is a tube on the bottom of the water container that directs the water down the drain avoiding melting of the ice.

That extra water is how it flushes the water with more what are now more concentrated minerals in it to to get ready for making the next batch.
