Hello Mike! Unfortunately, we would not recommend a specific Whirlpool model for a garage unless it is a heated garage. We would recommend a brand like Gladiator, which is made for use in the garage.

I think it would work. We have it in a garage in the North Texas area. A fridge in a garage in the winter is likely to be more of a freezer. :) But it does seal up pretty good. If I have any complaint it would be with the freezer. Doesn’t freeze very hard on the recommened setting and the door barely lines up with the box. But it works fine for us.
