Hello Kay, if you do not plan to use the Ice Maker you do not need to connect the ice maker. Please make sure to turn the ice maker to the off position. We hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! It was so difficult to find a refrigerator without an ice maker because I don’t use it or need a constant flow of ice. I just buy a bag of ice and fill the double tray under the ice maker myself when needed. I don’t think you can actually remove the ice maker - although I have never tried. I bought this because my research showed it was quiet - and it is. There are the normal random popping sounds due to expansion and contracting during the operational phase (very minor). On occasion a whirling sound which is the fan. Nineteen cubic feet of interior space is perfect for a single person or 2 people. A larger family this would not work.
