A:Answer I recently purchased this refrigerator and thought it was indeed an energy star, but nothing on my paperwork says it is and I don't see any on the refrigerator. There is also a discrepancy in the Model No. on my receipt and the model no. on the inside of the fridge, which makes me wonder if it was substituted. I tried calling the store from which i purchased it, but the representative I spoke to told me to bring in the paperwork. Haven't had time to do so yet. Plan to make it there this week. Will follow up with further information once I can get this sorted out. Other than this confusion, the refrigerator is quiet and doesn't seem to run as often or as long as my old one, so it should at least be more energy efficient than that one. First time I've owned french door refrigerator with a bottom freezer. I think it may take some time to get used to and I may have to re-organize some things to accommodate large bowls, etc.in the fridge. I don't stockpile a lot in the freezer so I think I can manage with some organization- meats on one side, veggies on the other. I store soup in Ziploc freezer bags and store flat so they go in the top tray. Saves a lot of room from using containers and allows you to store in 1-2 servings in quart size bags and more in gal size bags. I didn't hook up the ice maker so I store ice on the bottom in my old container on top of 2 trays. When I have a party, I buy bagged ice or start stockpiling a few days before as space permits. Hope this helps.
