“Does this Microwave need outdoor venting. We have an over the range space with no vent the old unit had a filter in front of it. This one does not.”

This unit can EITHER ventilate back into the kitchen OR ventilate out of the kitchen through a duct that you would need to install yourself. Out-of-the-box, the unit is set to ventilate back into the kitchen, but there are clear instructions on how to modify the top of the unit to have the ventilation go through your exhaust vent.

The outside vent kit that comes with it has an automatic vent door to prevent drafts. If you want it to vent thru the bottom instead of outside all you have to do is slide the filter in. If you want it to outside vent you must have the ducts installed and then install the vent door.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit comes with 2 types of venting options. You can vent out through a vent pipe or you can vent out through the top vents. Ours is also installed over a range with no pre-existing venting pipes. Works fine!
