“When you open the fridge side a motor noise radiates from the top left corner inside. I removed the plastic cover that supposedly covers the filter. Behind is a styrofoam fixture with a plug and behind is a flapper door witch is getting stuck.”

I do not have this problem. Perhaps, if the owner (Joe) would ensure, by consulting the manual, that all parts are seated correctly...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I just poked at the Styrofoam and the vibration stopped, apparently a loose or improper fit. This Whirlpool is noisy with an almost constant hum.
