“Do we need to use an air filter with this model? There is a space for it, but it did not come with a filter. There is styrofoam behind where the air filter should go so didn't know if we put a filter in what it would do next to the styrofoam?”

Hi BeachHouse, this unit does use a Fresh Flow air filter which is part number W10311524.
