A:Answer Variable, depending on the setting. It's a guess, but it has a reasonably close range before going on and off -- because the thing runs a whole lot. Knowing that it actually pulls cold air from the freezer side to cool the refrigerator means that it should run much less if you aren't in and out of the freezer compartment very often. We had a twenty year old Maytag that ran much quieter, less often, and kept temperatures within a similar close range with no problems at all. Electric Utility (Exelon) encouraged their customers to update their refrigerators to conserve power -- now we're wondering what the real incentive was for that directive...We gave the old Maytag away, and truthfully, wish we had it back so we could give this one away...
