The higher the number, the colder the temperature. Think of it as reflecting intensity of cold rather than the number of degrees.

In order to reduce coolness in the freezer section compartment you should change your cold control from 4 to 3. However, I do not recommend change settings. You should keep your cool control on number 4 for the freezer and fridge section. Felix / World Appliance Co.
