• Mine came mounted on the front of the bottom tray like you stated, however, when we had it installed, I put it on the left side inside of dishwasher. That seems to work better for me as being on the door, the silverware tended to fall out when opened. Hope this helps.

• You have several options on where to place the silverware tray- the door, on the front of the bottom rack, or inside of the bottom rack.
