If you have a water line to the back of the fridge, then no, it's a simple connection. If you don't have the line then they are not too difficult to install if you have some basic tools and skills.

The water comes from your house. The fridge requires a water hose and the Best Buy delivery guys will install the hose to the water plumbed to the fridge area. If you don't have water plumbed to your fridge location then yes you would need a plumber to run a water line for the fridge in order to use the water/ice features of this fridge.

If your home has a water connection behind the refrigerator, you simply connect the hose from the refrigerator to your wall connection. You will need a plumber if you have no water supply in that location. Otherwise, you can make the connection yourself or the Best Buy installers will.

If you are in a dwelling that never had a refrigerator with a water dispenser, you will need a plumber to make the initial connection for you. It is usually done from the kitchen sink water supply.
