Ours does the same thing. We have to leave the cup there for a few seconds, after filling it up, and letting go of the lever. That seems to be enough for us to avoid it dripping all over any more.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is normal. It shouldn't be and not sure why Whirlpool is not making a drip tray that should have come with it. It has been a known issue and if you leave it eventually the edge will start rusting or if you have white or black the paint will start bubbling. Go to Amazon you can purchase an aftermarket drip tray. I highly recommend it. I ordered one just before my fridge got delivered.
