“New Whirlpool Fridge only shuts off when you open the door. I am reading now that Whirlpool thinks it is possible for this Fridge to run 100 percent of the time and still be considered 'normal" behavior? It is driving us insane. Can anything be done?”

I returned it. Got a different brand. Much quieter. I found a page online where dozens of people complained about this. It should not be considered normal. They need to change it or stop selling it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was wondering the same thing. My Whirlpool runs all day unless I open the frig. Then it stays off 30 mins to an hour. What I don't understand is that it can remain running at 32 degrees but when you open the door to put food in, it'll stop and stay off a half hour, thus raising the temps up to 8 degrees before it comes back on. It's as if it rests the compressor rather than defaulting to thermostat needs. It's really weird and seems counterintuitive.
