I had the same problem. Either cut a hole in your cabinet or sand down the parts of the trim kit that prevent it from laying flush. I had already cut out other holes for part of the trim kit, and I didn't want to hack away even more of the cabinet frame (damaging its stability), so I sanded the protruding parts of the trim kit down. Takes a bit of time however. Good luck - Greg
