A:AnswerThe washer is 3.6 cubic feet. Not sure why it says that. The washer is still larger inside than a traditional 3.6 because there's no agitator running up the center. You can fit a lot of clothes in this machine- a full load is very large.
A:AnswerDear Valued Consumer:
What you are describing does not fit the description of our wash plate in model WTW4950XW. The small wash plate will pull the clothes up and out but does not pump them up at all.
Thank you for your interest in our Whirlpool washer.
A:AnswerThe reason for the change is that many of us manufacturers are going by the DOE measurement and not the IEC that we used to. You will notice this in all brands now. This is really just a 7 cu ft difference. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Department Of Energy (D.O.E.)
All manufacturers report a washer’s D.O.E. capacity to government agencies like ENERGY STAR®. It defines capacity as a wash basket’s total volume. In other words, D.O.E. is the space that can be occupied by clothes in the basket.
International Electrotechnical Commission (I.E.C.)
This is the measurement that is the norm for low-water wash systems. The I.E.C.capacity measurement gives credit for advanced wash systems, low water levels and load-sensing capabilities. With this combination of features, the capacity
to clean more clothes is greater than what the D.O.E. capacity represents.
The I.E.C. standard of measurement provides credit for high-efficiency technology, thus reflecting the difference in cleaning capacity.
A:AnswerThere are many different sounds the machine makes. You'll get used to them after about a week. They sounded really loud to me at first too, but after I got used to them they were unnoticeable. They're normal- in the manual it tells you to expect some unusual sounds :) I was suspicious at first- but the machine has done a great job cleaning for me.
A:AnswerDear Customer:

Thank you for your interest in a Whirlpool washer!
A:AnswerI have never noticed a loud noise /bang when the machine is washing or changing cycles - the noise , is a different sound, kind of a grind , but not unpleasant it only took a couple days to get use to the different sound and I do not even notice it now .
A:AnswerYes it does wash comforters. But make sure you push it down in the tub, my washer didnt get all the water out becasue there was more then one in it and when I turned it on to just drain and spin my comforter wasnt all the way down in the tub and it melted the corner of one.
