“My current 30" Whirlpool Gold Electric cooktop had a cut out depth of 3.75 inches. Can I easily replace it with a new 30 "Whirlpool electric cook top with a cut out depth of 5 1/4 inches without any problems? All my other cut out dimensions are the same.”

You should check under your countertop and measure the clearance to the nearest obstacle (vertical dimension). I had to do this too because my old cooktop was only 2.5 inches in depth. None of my drawers and cookware stored below interfered with the extra depth needed.
