Hello John, this model can recirculate back into the home or be vented to the outside of the home. Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This comes as a ventless range hood out of the box. And yes, it simply filters / recycles air. It looks like it was precut to attach to a vent but it’s no easy task to connect. Mine went into a condo that I sold so I can’t speak to its actual use.
