I had the same problem but different microwaves. I ended up having to buy the new trim kit just to use the base it sits on. Then I was able to use my nicer stainless face trim. The trim kit for the new microwave was plastic face trim to look like stainless. The only reason I had to invest in this new trim kit, was the holes in the bottom of the new microwave were in different location than old microwave. Check first to see if the new microwave lines up with your existing trim kit. I actually took delivery on my new microwave first to check and then ended up ordering the trim kit that went with it. Make sense?
