HE is "high efficiency ". It is detergent made specifically for HE washers, which use significantly less water than non-HE washers. HE detergents are readily available at the grocery store, and you use considerably less per wash than regular detergents. Only use HE detergents in HE washers, and dont use non-HE detergents in HE washers.

HE detergent is High Efficiency detergent that does not need to produce a lot of suds during wash cycle. Most detergents are now HE.

It is a concentrated, low suds detergent designed to work with the low volume of water used in an HE type washer. Using conventional detergent in an HE washer could have messy and damaging results.

Make sure HE is on the detergent as regular causes sudsing and problems with rinse and drain resulting in need to rinse and spin more to remove the excess after suds go down and can cause mold/mildew. The detergent bottles look the same Will just have the HE added on the right ones for this machine. It's important, made to work in our High Efficiency machine. Learned my lesson on my old machine, didn't cause it to go bad but lesson learned
