Typical you would want a drip pan that is at least 2 inches wider On either side than the washers itself. If you are dealing with a confined space then you definitely have an issue since the drip pan is very size specific and you don’t want to remodel the washer space. Most front loading washers are sealed so leakage is very uncommon and as long as you have new hoses for the hot and cold and you have your drain hose in the stand pipe and if the stand pipe is the right height then you should not have any issues with leakage
