• 36 inches should be plenty of room. Mine measures just over 36 inches from the wall, but I have it pulled forward to line up with the dryer. It could be moved back at least 3 inches. The dryer can't go back as far because of the vent.

• You will need a minimum of 5 inches from the back of the unit to the wall to allow clearance for the drain hose
