Yes, i have noticed the same thing! Pet hair and lint all seem to collect on the globe of the door. I usually wipe it down at the end of my laundry day. There is also a " clean washer" button that just started to flash on mine so I think that is a maintenance thing we are to do according to manual. Also, the gentleman that set us up told me that you generally only need 1 cup measured for each load, no matter the size. Make sure you are using laundry soap that is labeled "HE" on it too.
