“Does this washer use HE detergent?”

• Before purchasing this machine, I looked at the specifications and it said it did NOT have to use HE detergent. Once we bought it and had it installed the info screen on the machine said to add HE detergent. Im hoping this is just a general recommendation and that it is not necessary to use HE detergent. Comments?
