“One consumer said he has formica countertops and since the grills go all the way to the end of the appliance, his countertops get hot. I am interested in purchasing but I have formica as well.”

In case others are wondering about this issue, I think I have a clearer answer :) The counters will not be next to the grills (grates). The grill/grates are about 1 inch above standard counter height. Also, the edges of the grates get warm but not hot-hot.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a stainless lip around the entire range, in between the grates and the edge of any counter top. With the burners on, the lip can still be touched without any burning in any sense of the word.
