“Hello- I have an older house. Is there a conversion kit available for the electrical hook-up? I was told the dryer requires 240v and i only have 120v. Also- the dryer was missing the complete plug and only has the panel in the back”

An electrician needs to be called to add a 240-volt service to the house. Dryers and ranges require it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t know about 120v to 240v. I have seen a dryer converter kit in Home Depot for $70 or $75 but I don’t know how it works. Or if it’s safe for long term use. I think I had to buy a power cord separately for my dryer; it didn’t come with a power cord.
