“Is the depth inclusive of exhaust connection? How much space is needed behind the dryer for a connection coming out of the wall behind it?”

• You need an absolute minimum behind the dryer of 6 inches. The depth of this particular machine is 28 inches and that is in addition to the room needed for the dryer vent. I have a location between two doorways that limits my choices, and this is a tight, but perfect fit.

• Not an expert, just my experience: The depth does not include space for the dryer hose to vent the dryer. Depending on the hose you use, you will need about 4 to 5 inches of space behind the dryer for the hose.
