Unfortunately, I had the exact same experience. Whirlpool was unwilling to stand by their product and essentially said they were throwing up their hands for any time period not explicitly covered by the warranty. The best thing you can do is accurately inform other would-be buyers that Whirlpool creates substandard products and they are not worth your money or trust.
