You need to find out what frequency your local emergency services is on. This model will not pick them up where I live and I bought the wrong one. The one I need is like $250. I bought this specifically for emergency services and I can't pick it up here where I live. If you call Whistler themselves, they did a quick search and took about 2 minutes and they told me specifically why it wouldn't work and educated me as to this whole frequency thing. You gotta think, they probably make it difficult for a person to listen to their frequency cuz if it was easy every criminal could listen and have a heads up. I highly doubt you'll ever get anything to listen to special ops bro. You really think general population can tune in to some special task force? Na bro, I doubt it. Again, if we could, the bad guy would always know them boys are on their way and he'll skidaddle before they arrive every single time bud.
