I agree if this is placed inside a cabinet it needs to have good ventilation or it will overheat and burn the circuit board. This particular model is meant to be a stand still with at least 3 sides open to space. However, if you place the unit under a cabinet and it happens to be immediately next to a stainless steel sink, I have good news for you. Drill a inch to inch and half hole between adjoining wall of the two cabinets up high to allow the hot air to travel into the cavity of the Stainless Steel sink. The sink acts like a magnet and absorbs the heat into the sink. thus minimizing the amount of heat around the wine cooler. Hope this helps.
