“Does this ice maker keep the ice cold for short periods of time or does it start melting as soon as it is dumped into the basket? If it starts melting unless you take it out every 10-15 then when you put it in the freezer you will have a huge hunk of ice.”

It starts melting as soon as it is dumped into the basket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.What I do is the first two ice dumps I put back in the Reservoir then it stays cold for a good two to three hours but make sure that you level out the ice after it stops because of the sensor.
