Hmm, when my kids encounter that problem they shut their phones off, restart bluetooth pairing feauture and usually sync by the second attempt. Put it phone n earbuds close to one another. B sure u don't have anything in ur aux/chargingport. Also b sure ur phone isn't syncing to ur TV, or stereo, car, computer or home speaker. Good luck!
