The WhisperTech 8000 BTU unit draws 6.8 amperes when the voltage is 115. Watts, voltage, and amperage are interrelated. Watts/Voltage = Amps, so Amps x Voltage = Watts. And Watts/Amps = Voltage. These are all measurements of electricity. Voltage is a measurement of the electric potential or "pressure" at which electricity flows through a system. Amperage is another way to measure the amount of electricity running through a circuit. Amperage is the "rate" that current is flowing through the circuit or the number of electrons moving through the wire. Google "volts, amps and watts" for more information.
